GUNNAR Prescription

For GUNNAR to process your prescription order you will need a copy of your valid prescription along with your Pupillary Distance (PD) measurement. If you do not have a copy of your prescription available, or your prescription is expired, please visit your eye care professional for an eye exam.

Pupillary Distance (PD) is the distance between your pupils measured in millimeters. In order for our prescription lenses to have a proper focal point, all of our prescription orders require a PD measurement to be provided.

After purchasing GUNNAR prescription glasses, if you do not have your PD measurement, please send an email torx@gunnars.comand we can provide a link to our PD measuring tool. All you need is a webcam enabled device and a credit card for scale.

GUNNAR prescription glasses are covered by most major vision insurance providers including VSP and Vision Care Direct (VCD). For more information, please visit our insurance page here, or contact your insurance provider.

Prescription orders take 2-3 weeks to process from time of initial order. Orders will ship from our optical lab in Southern California using one of the three major carriers: UPS, USPS or Fedex. International orders may take longer due to local government and customs processing.

You will be asked to upload your prescription when adding a prescription product to your cart. You may also select an option to email it later to rx@gunnars.com if you do not currently have your prescription on hand.

Lens Technology

GUNNAR is the only patented computer eyewear recommended by doctors to protect and enhance your vision while using a digital device. Our advanced optical technology addresses all issues associated with digital eye strain including dry, irritated eyes, blurry vision, headaches, glare, as well as the negative effects of artificial blue light including eyestrain and fatigue. GUNNAR lenses have specifically tuned focusing power providing you with sharper, clearer vision. This patented lens technology aids natural focusing and reduces stress and strain on your eyes. Less eye strain reduces digital fatigue and issues associated with prolonged computer use. Most GUNNAR non-prescription glasses have a standard +0.2 diopter focusing power that reduces strain and allows the eyes to rest comfortably while viewing screens at close distances for extended periods of time.

Our lenses are not polarized as that can adversely affect viewing a digital device and even make the screen disappear at certain orientations. Don’t worry, though, our lenses do block damaging UV, high energy visible [HEV], and blue light as well as glare.

We recommend using our Lens Cleaner Kit or any non alcohol based lens cleaner. Some cleaners contain alcohol which can damage the anti glare coatings.

Our lens technology is optimized for using a digital device regardless of the style of frame or type of lens you choose. Computer eyewear styles are generally more contemporary and modern, while our Gaming frame styles are designed with flat temples so they are more compatible with audio headsets.

Shipping

No, taxes and duties are not included with any shipping costs. International buyers are responsible for any customs duties and taxes charged by your destination country in addition to the item price and shipping charges.

Once your GUNNAR order has been shipped you will receive a confirmation email which will include your tracking number. If there are any issues with your GUNNAR order, please reach out to our support team at support@gunnars.com.

We have partnered with Route to provide premium package protection and tracking services for your orders!  Adding Route's Package Protection to your order at checkout means your order is protected against loss, damage, or theft while in transit. Should anything happen to your order, you will be able to quickly file a claim through the Route team for an instant refund or reimbursement.

If your Route-protected order ends up lost, damaged, or stolen, Route’s expert support team helps ensure that your order gets replaced or refunded as preferred. Claims will be reviewed for approval within 1-2 business days from filing.

Once you’ve made your purchase, if you selected Route Package Protection, you can easily track it visually (and any other order) with Route’s platform.  Whether you’re tracking via the Route App or online, Route’s real-time shipping updates keep you in the loop throughout every part of your delivery.

1. Marked As Delivered (Stolen)

Claims will be reviewed no earlier than 5 calendar days and no later than 15 calendar days from when it was marked delivered *Please note, some order issues may require a police report to be filed

2. Stuck In Transit (Lost)

For domestic orders, claims will be reviewed no earlier than 2 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last update. The maximum filing time is 60 days from the order date

For international orders, claims will be reviewed no earlier than 20 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last update. The maximum filing time is 60 days from the order date

3. Damaged

Claims for damaged items require photos of the packaging and item(s) and must be filed no later than 15 calendar days from when it was marked delivered

Returns / Exchanges / Warranties

GUNNAR will refund the purchase price for any returnable or non-prescription order returned within 30 days of the ship date. To get the full refund, the purchase must have been made through our website, be in new condition, and must be accompanied by a return authorization number (RMA). GUNNAR will exchange any returnable or non-RX order within 30 days of the ship date. For all exchanges, the purchase must have been made through our website, be in new condition, and must be accompanied by a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number. All sales are final on custom prescription orders. The GUNNAR prescription warranty policy covers the frame against materials and workmanship defects for two (2) years from the original purchase date. The GUNNAR non-prescription warranty policy covers products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) or two (2) years depending on the product purchased. For more warranty information, please visit here.

The GUNNAR prescription warranty policy covers the frame against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the original purchase date. Prescription warranty also covers defects in the lens AR coating for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. 

All prescription glasses purchased on GUNNAR.com are covered for a one (1) time change of frame, lens or prescription by the doctor for a period of 120 days from the original shipped date. For more information on GUNNAR prescription warranty policies, visit here.

Orders

Reading and prescription glasses are approved FSA purchases. Non-prescription blue light glasses are eligible with most providers, as well! You can always check with your plan administrator to confirm.

When placing your order, you’ll want to make sure that the card you’re using has a balance enough to cover the entire total for your GUNNAR order. At this time, we’re not able to split payment for your order between an FSA and non-FSA debit/credit card.

Other than right here on GUNNAR.COM, our eyewear is also available through certified GUNNAR retail locations around the world including specialty retail stores, university bookstores, consumer electronic stores, and authorized eye care professionals.
