    thanks are good

  2. 5 out of 5

I recently Purchased a pair of Sheadogs and I absolutely love them! They’re comfortable, stylish, and they really work. I’m even hoping to exchange my Intercept pair (Which I believe to be a defect) for another pair of Sheadogs except with Crystalline lenses.

  3. 3 out of 5

    (verified owner):

The ‘Sheadog’ is a staple of Gunnar’s computer lineup as they are simple, effective, and look good on anybody,
Aesthetically, the Sheadog blends in with the office environment; with the Crystalline lenses they’d be undetectable as monitor-eye-strain reduction glasses. The technical highlight of these glasses would be the one-piece lightweight construction which makes for extreme comfort.

So why only three of five stars? I like the Sheadog glasses but there is alot to be desired. The construction is, in my opinion, overly lightweight and thin to the extent I feel the frames to be weak and flimsy, Full disclosure: I’ve asked coworkers what their thoughts are and some have given me the total opposite opinion, being that the frames are surprisingly solid for how thin and light they are. Still- I am not wild about the frame construction and I expected more based on other now-discontinued Computer Gunnar glasses.

Still: I would consider recommending these glasses to anyone who wants a pair of Gunnar’s lenses and a conventional looking set of frames.

  4. 2 out of 5

    (verified owner):

I bought 3 pairs of Gunnars about 4 years ago. Ended up sending one back because they were too small for me, but loved the other 2 pairs. I would get sore eyes from spending 8 hours a day in front of a computer, and these lens stopped my condition almost instantly. I have not had sore eyes from looking at a computer screen for over 4 years now, and in fact, I can’t stand to look at a computer without wearing them now.

So as far as the lens go, I rate this product 5 out of 5 and would recommend for anyone. That being said, the arm broke on one of my glasses after 4+ years, and unfortunately Gunnar does not sell spare frames (nor sell that particular style which well suited my larger nose!)

So after trying (and failing) to find a local supplier to replace the arm or frame, I opted to buy another pair of glasses from the Gunnar site. It seems Gunnar does not make the larger (nose) frames anymore, so I opted for biggest frames I could find in a style I liked which was this “Sheadog” model.

I received them yesterday and sadly, the frames on this model are so flimsy and thin, I can’t see them lasting 6 months. Not only are the frames themselves so thin they twist very easily, the arms are connected by 2 ultra-small pieces of metal, which is where my last pair broke.

I may be jumping the gun (no pun intended) placing a review without giving these a good go, but they really are so thin that I have to say I am disappointed and would not recommend this particular model. My other 2 pairs are “chalk and cheese” in their build quality in comparison.

If this reviews script would let me post a photo, I would should you these against my old pair side by side – the difference is remarkable. I don’t care if the millennials think this is the new in-style adn is “cool”, they are so thin and flimsy, I can see them breaking from a sneeze or cough!

A one-star for the “Sheadog” style / frames, but five-stars for Gunnar’s product overall (the lens technology) which I would recommend any day of the week – just chose a different model IMO.

Alison, The sheadog is one of our most popular styles and believe it or not, it is one of our most durable. The ultra strong memory stainless steel frames are almost indestructible. I know they feel flimsy but that is to keep the ultra light weight. Plus, we have a 30 day money back guarantee.
